Three Power Systems

Engineered for next-gen performance, the Air65 II arrives in three distinct versions: Champion, Racing, and Freestyle. Each features specially designed 0702 brushless motors with a revolutionary 0.1mm stator core and specific winding/magnet design. To power these demanding configurations, all versions come equipped with the Matrix 1S 5IN1 II Flight Controller, boasting a robust 12A continuous (18A peak) ESC to handle high surge currents.

Champion

The Champion version returns as the flagship model, crafted for pure, professional-grade racing. Weighing in at just 16.6g, it features the exclusive 2.20g Air65 Champion frame and the unsolderable Matrix 5IN1 II Controller. Equipped with Champion 0702 dual ball-bearing motors (36000KV) and lightweight GF 1207 3-blade props, it achieves an impressive 6.3:1 thrust-to-weight ratio for maximum acceleration and track domination.

Racing & Freestyle

The Racing version includes Racing 0702 motors (30000KV) paired with GF 1207 3-blade props. This combination delivers higher RPMs and ultra-precise throttle response for heightened agility on technical race circuits. The Freestyle version features Freestyle 0702 motors (25000KV) and GF 1219S 3-blade props. Optimized for smooth control and superior low-end torque, it allows for buttery-smooth, cinematic flight.

Durability

Flight Controller

The Matrix 1S 5IN1 II Flight Controller uses a 3-point mounting system that creates a dampening space during impacts, reducing pressure on essential components and lowering the damage rate by up to 80%. Its thickened 1.0mm PCB and optimized layout further enhance crash resilience.

New Canopy & Frame

All versions feature the crash-resistant Air II Canopy, with upgraded materials and strategic reinforcements. The Racing and Freestyle models utilize the durable Air65 II Frame, while the Champion uses the ultralight Air65 Champion Frame, both engineered with optimized ducts and crash-absorbing PP material to withstand brutal crashes.

Community Feedback

In direct response to valuable discussions within the FPV community regarding the durability of the Air 5IN1 FC, we conducted a survey across the Tiny Whoop and BETAFPV Facebook groups. The results were clear: over 50% of pilots prioritized improved crash resilience in the Air series. This feedback became our central design focus for the Air65 II.

To develop an effective solution, our R&D team evaluated several design approaches. Testing indicated that removing one rubber grommet could significantly enhance crash protection. To validate this finding, we executed a systematic crash testing protocol, comparing the new configuration directly against previous designs.

  • Air Whoops Tested

  1. Air65 (Air 5IN1 FC): With 4 Rubber Grommets.

  2. Air65 (Air 5IN1 FC): With the front rubber grommet removed.

  3. Air65 II (Matrix 1S 5IN1 II): With the front rubber grommet removed.

  4. Air75 II (Matrix 1S 5IN1 II): With the front rubber grommet removed.

  • Method:

Each unit was accelerated 5 meters in a straight line at full throttle in level flight, then crashed horizontally into a wall. Image transmission, OSD, and receiver signals were monitored after each impact. Testing ended after 20 crashes or observed failure.

  • The engineering solution:

The data was conclusive: removing the front rubber grommet significantly reduced stress transfer to the Flight Controller, decreasing the risk of crash-related Flight Controller damage by approximately 80% on the Air65, with negligible impact on flight performance. We further addressed this in the Air65 II by fully integrating a 3-point mounting system. Combined with the new 1.0mm thickened PCB and internal reinforcements from the Matrix 1S 5IN1 II, the result is a significantly more durable whoop.

Optimal Precision Flight Experience

Every component, from the motor and propeller combination to flight controller parameters, is meticulously calibrated for each version. This results in three distinct flight characters: the smooth and efficient Freestyle, the ultra-precise Racing, and the maximum-power Champion, ensuring an optimized experience for every pilot and every environment.
