Three Power Systems

Engineered for next-generation performance, the Air65 II is offered in three distinct versions: Champion, Racing, and Freestyle. Each is defined by purpose-built 0702 brushless motors featuring a revolutionary 0.1mm stator core and specific magnetic/winding design. To power these demanding configurations, all versions come equipped with the Matrix 1S 5IN1 II Flight Controller, featuring a robust 12A continuous (18A peak) ESC to handle high surge currents.

Champion

The Champion version returns as the flagship model, engineered for pure, professional-level racing. Weighing a mere 16.6g, it features the exclusive 2.20g Air65 Champion frame and unsolder Matrix 5IN1 II FC. Equipped with dual ball bearing Champion 0702 motors (36000KV) and lightweight GF 1207 3-blade propellers, it achieves an impressive 6.3:1 thrust-to-weight ratio for maximum acceleration and track domination.

Racing & Freestyle

The Racing version features Racing 0702 motors (30000KV) paired with GF 1207 3-blade propellers. This combination delivers higher RPMs and ultra-precise throttle response for enhanced agility on technical race tracks. The Freestyle version boasts Freestyle 0702 motors (25000KV) and GF 1219S 3-blade propellers. Optimized for smooth control and superior low-end torque, it enables buttery-smooth cinematic flights.

Durability

Flight Controller

The Matrix 1S 5IN1 II Flight Controller utilizes a 3-point fixing system that creates a damping space upon impacts, reducing stress on critical components and lowering the damage rate by up to 80%. Its thickened 1.0mm PCB and optimized layout further enhance crash resistance.

New Canopy and Frame

All versions feature the crash-resistant Air II canopy, with upgraded materials and strategic reinforcements. Racing and Freestyle models utilize the durable Air65 II frame, while the Champion employs the ultralight Air65 Champion frame, both designed with optimized ducts and shock-absorbing PP material to withstand even the harshest falls.

Community Feedback

In direct response to relevant discussions within the FPV community about the durability of the Air 5IN1 FC, we conducted a poll in the Tiny Whoop and BETAFPV Facebook groups. The results were clear: over 50% of pilots prioritized better crash resistance for the Air series. This feedback became our central design focus for the Air65 II.

To develop an effective solution, our R&D team evaluated several design approaches. Testing indicated that removing a rubber grommet could significantly improve impact protection. To validate this finding, we executed a systematic crash testing protocol, comparing the new configuration directly to previous designs.

  • Air Whoops Tested:

  1. Air65 (Air 5IN1 FC): With 4 rubber grommets.

  2. Air65 (Air 5IN1 FC): With front rubber grommet removed.

  3. Air65 II (Matrix 1S 5IN1 II): With front rubber grommet removed.

  4. Air75 II (Matrix 1S 5IN1 II): With front rubber grommet removed.

  • Method:

Each unit was accelerated 5 meters in a straight line on the level flight accelerator and horizontally impacted a wall. Image transmission, OSD, and receiver signals were monitored after each impact. The test concluded after 20 impacts or upon observed failure.

  • The Engineering Solution:

The data was conclusive: removing the front rubber grommet significantly reduced stress transfer to the flight controller, decreasing the risk of crash-related FC damage by approximately 80% on the Air65, with negligible impact on flight performance. We went further on the Air65 II by fully integrating a 3-point mounting system. Combined with the new, thickened 1.0mm Matrix 1S 5IN1 II PCB and internal bracing, the result is a significantly more durable whoop.

Flight Experience Tuned with Precision

Every component, from the motor and propeller combination to flight controller settings, is meticulously calibrated for each version. This results in three distinct flight characters: the smooth and efficient Freestyle, the incredibly precise Racing, and the maximum-power Champion, ensuring an optimized experience for every pilot and environment.
